This one seemed so close on many occasions, but always just out of my reach. Erik and I went to the Pemberton Music Festival in 2008 with the plan to see bands like Vampire Weekend, Serj Tankian and Metric (3 bands I discovered after the magic date.) but we ended up leaving after the first night because the festival was so piss-poorly organized. We did end up seeing a terrific set by Nine Inch Nails, but I’ve been in love with them for years. I did not manage to see any new bands at this show!
So Jesse got us tickets for the Sasquatch Festival this May for our first anniversary, and I got to see aaaalllllll my favorite new bands! Top on my list was:

I got to see all of them, and other great bands! Old favorite like Foo Fighters and Death Cab For Cutie, new discoveries like Fitz & The Tantrums, Foster The People, Matt & Kim, Biffy Clyro and Young The Giant.
Plus, we got to camp for 5 nights with a bunch of other crazy music fans!
